When I first started creating art using alcohol ink in the summer of 2017, I never thought in my wildest dreams it would grow like this. I have a website. I have a social media following (small, but it's there), I have people that ask me about my art.

This whole thing started because I was driving my mom crazy. I was home from college for the summer and was only working Friday-Monday. I had nothing going on Tuesday-Thursday so I would sit at home and complain how bored I was. Finally, my mom said, "Sarah! You have to find a hobby. I am not dealing with this all summer." While I was scrolling on Facebook, I came across a video of a "Pinterest hack:" dripping alcohol ink onto glass, followed by dripping rubbing alcohol, and then lighting it on fire leaving only the pigment from the ink on the glass. I said, "Mom, we need to go to Michael's immediately!" We went to the store and my mom bought me one three-pack of ink. Today, I have about 20 different inks to choose from!

After going back to school in the fall of 2017, I stopped creating. I was feeling lost, I would get bouts of feeling the need to be creative but I didn't know how to go about it. I tried coloring books, painting, and even writing, but nothing really fed that creative drive that I had. I realized that I needed to be creative in some way in order to be happy. In the fall of 2018 I took Digital Imaging. I learned the basics of Photoshop. I kept on messing around with it and starting creating art with the brushes in January of 2019. Through making digital art, I can feed my creative hunger while I am at school and continue learning about colors and the endless features of Photoshop. I am looking forward to going home, however. I miss creating with alcohol ink and fire and I hope I can produce some new alcohol pieces while I am home for a couple days come March.

Thank you so much for helping me grow this project into what it is now. Without everyone's support, I would not be inspired every day to create and continue this.
