ARTISTICALLY INTOXICATED
History of Artistically Intoxicated
Summer 2017
My mom got sick of me not having an activity to do between my super-part-time job. She said "Sarah, you need to find a hobby." As I was scrolling on Facebook, I saw a Pinterest video about burning alcohol ink on the glass piece of a picture frame. A hobby and passion were found.
Fall 2017
I showed my art in my first collegiate art show. It was open to submissions, and I didn't need to be chosen. I didn't have too many buddies in college at this time, so I stayed to myself and painted and drew. However, my art slowed down towards the end of the year when I went into my sophomore year of college.
2018
I moved into an apartment and was able to create a little art area for myself. I focused on my alcohol ink and tried to not set my apartment on fire (all jokes). I occasionally sold or gifted artwork to my classmates. I also took my first college art class and was told my color wheel that I painted and was so excited about was not good. Who cares?

2020
Oy vey. The Covid year. The year I realized art might be something I'm really into. I spent 8 months working on my 4'x4' piece titled "Take Me Home." It taught me patience and that mistakes are always able to be painted over. I also sent out many hand-painted postcards this year.
2021-2023
I don't really remember these years due o the burn out of art non-stop in 2020. Oopsies!
2024
The year everything is coming together. I am focusing on my balance. I am focusing on submitting to more art shows. I am experimenting with even more mediums and techniques. I am proud of myself.
